CID Launches Cyber Security Training for 60 Officers
AP CID launches a three-day cyber security training for 60 officers at Mangalagiri to boost skills in tackling evolving cybercrime.
The Andhra Pradesh Crime Investigation Department (CID) has launched a three-day Cyber Security and Cyber Hygiene Training Programme at Mangalagiri to enhance the skills of its personnel in tackling cybercrime.
The Phase-I programme, being held from September 16 to 18, is being conducted under the aegis of CID Director General of Police Dr Ravi Shankar Ayyanar, who has stressed the need for continuous capacity building and regular training to keep pace with evolving cybercrime methods.
Around 60 CID personnel, from constables to Superintendents of Police, from the headquarters and seven regional offices are participating in the programme. The sessions are being conducted by cyber security expert and Sytech Labs CEO Sandeep Madulkar.-
Senior officers from the CID headquarters and regional offices participated in the workshop and guided the investigating officers.
The training covers emerging cybercrime methods, including digital arrest fraud, information gathering, legal notices and digital evidence, social media crimes, financial fraud and bank account investigations.
Officers are also being trained in CDR and IPDR analysis, open-source intelligence (OSINT), web intelligence, IP address tracking, website and email investigations, VOIP calls, malware analysis, digital forensics and forensic tools.
Other modules include dark web investigations, anonymity techniques, blockchain technology and cryptocurrency-related investigations. The programme includes hands-on demonstrations, case studies, live demonstrations and interactive sessions.
CID officials said such capacity-building programmes would be conducted periodically to equip police personnel with the latest skills and tools for cybercrime investigation and digital forensics.
