Child rights body seeks enhanced newborn care at state hospitals

Vijayawada:Andhra Pradesh State Commission for Protection of Child Rights has urged medical professionals to increase their focus on newborn health and care. The suggestion came after the commission inspected a government hospital in Vijayawada on Wednesday.
Commission chairperson Kesali Apparao, along with members Gondu Sitaram, Kumari Adilakshmi Triparna and Jangam Rajendra Prasad, conducted a thorough assessment of the hospital's neonatal care facilities.
The commission members reviewed three years of newborn registration data and examined the medical procedures performed on the infants.
"We are committed to ensuring that every newborn in Andhra Pradesh receives the highest standard of care," said chairperson Apparao.
The commission interacted with parents of newborns to understand their experiences and concerns regarding the healthcare services provided.
Apparao announced that the commission plans to submit comprehensive recommendations to the state government, addressing the various issues in neonatal care."Our goal is to protect rights and improve health outcomes of our youngest citizens," the commission chairperson stated.
