Chandrasekhar Reddy Seeks CBI Probe Into DSC Irregularities
He also alleged that documents on government websites were being tampered with or deleted when discrepancies were highlighted
NELLORE: YSRC MLC P. Chandrasekhar Reddy on Sunday demanded a CBI probe into alleged irregularities in DSC recruitment, accusing the coalition government of harassing teachers, employees, students and Opposition leaders through “illegal cases”.
Addressing the media at the YSRC office here, he alleged that DSC question papers had been leaked and claimed that teaching posts were allegedly sold for `13 lakh to `15 lakh each. He also alleged that GO 4 and GO 47 were issued to facilitate the appointment of ineligible candidates and were later withdrawn after the alleged irregularities came to light.
Chandrasekhar Reddy said the YSRC was fighting on behalf of nearly three lakh DSC aspirants and demanded a CBI probe into both DSC and Group-I recruitment. He also alleged that documents on government websites were being tampered with or deleted when discrepancies were highlighted.
He opposed the enforcement of TET requirements on teachers with decades of service, saying those appointed under earlier rules should not be subjected to new eligibility requirements at the age of 55. He said the party had represented the issue to the Union education minister.
The MLC alleged that employees were owed five DAs and that IR and a new PRC had not been provided despite prolonged delays. He claimed employee arrears had accumulated to `23,000–`30,000 crore.
He also alleged that newly recruited teachers were being pressured to participate in political protests.
Chandrasekhar Reddy said the alleged DSC irregularities would be raised in the Assembly and challenged Minister Narayana to a debate on alleged municipal irregularities. He also alleged large-scale irregularities in Amaravati land pooling and said the YSRC would order comprehensive probes if it returned to power.
