Chandrababu Promises To Intervene On RDT’s FCRA Renewal Issue

The Chief Minister responding positively to representations, assured that he would speak to central authorities to resolve the matter.

Anantapur: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has assured that he will take up the issue of FCRA renewal for the NGO Rural Development Trust (RDT) with the Centre.

A delegation of MLAs from Anantapur and Satya Sai districts—led by government whip Kalava Srinivasulu and including Paritala Sunitha, D. Prasad, A. Surendra Babu, and B. Shravani—met the Chief Minister in Vijayawada on Wednesday, urging him to intervene in securing clearance for RDT's pending FCRA application.
Kalava Srinivasulu noted that RDT, which has been rendering services for over five decades, had its FCRA renewal denied on technical grounds. The Chief Minister responded positively, assuring that he would speak to central authorities to resolve the matter.
Separately, members of the Save RDT Joint Action Committee, led by CCC chairman Shakil Shafi, submitted a representation to Anantapur Collector B. Vinod Kumar, requesting a report highlighting RDT’s contributions to education, sports, and women empowerment.
Shakil noted that RDT supports around 2,000 students annually through the RDT CET, offering six years of free education at corporate institutions. However, this year’s CET was cancelled due to the FCRA renewal issue.
