Pawan Kalyan Recovering Well After Shoulder Surgery, Says Naidu

CM enquires about Deputy CM’s health after shoulder surgery in Mumbai

VIJAYAWADA: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday said deputy chief minister Pawan Kalyan is recovering steadily after a successful right shoulder surgery in Mumbai and will return to public life once he completes the prescribed rehabilitation.

Naidu visited Pawan Kalyan at the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital, where the deputy CM is under medical supervision following the three-and-a-half-hour surgery. Ministers P Narayana and Anagani Satya Prasad accompanied the CM, while Jana Sena PAC chairman and minister Nadendla Manohar and Rajya Sabha member Lingamaneni Ramesh received him at the hospital.

The chief minister interacted with Pawan Kalyan and his wife, Anna Konidela, enquired about his health and advised him to take adequate rest for a full recovery. He also held discussions with the medical team that performed the surgery.

Addressing the media later, Naidu said Pawan Kalyan had ignored serious injuries to both his shoulders for years while remaining actively engaged in public service. He noted that frequent jostling by enthusiastic supporters during public meetings and tours had aggravated the condition.

Naidu said doctors recommended immediate surgery after identifying the severity of the right shoulder injury during recent medical examinations. While the operation was successful, the deputy chief minister has been advised to undergo three weeks of physiotherapy and post-operative medical supervision.

The CM said he had also urged Pawan Kalyan to take sufficient rest before resuming official duties, though the latter expressed eagerness to return to work immediately after surgery.

Doctors, he said, would review the condition of Pawan Kalyan's left shoulder after six months to determine whether surgery would be necessary or if physiotherapy alone would suffice. He expressed confidence that the deputy CM would make a complete recovery and return to public service in full health.
