Centre Identifies 99 ODOP Products in Andhra Pradesh
The Centre also informed Parliament that it has not received any proposal from the Andhra Pradesh government for the inclusion of additional products under the ODOP initiative

Nellore: The Centre has informed Parliament that the Andhra Pradesh government has identified 99 products across 26 districts under the One District One Product (ODOP) initiative, with “Udayagiri Wooden Cutlery” and “Paturu Cotton Silk Saris” selected as the flagship products for SPSR Nellore district.
Replying to a question raised by Nellore MP Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy and Rajya Sabha MP Dr C.M. Ramesh, minister of state for commerce and industry Jitin Prasada said the ODOP initiative aims to promote district-specific products through branding, marketing and export support.
According to the minister, the Andhra Pradesh government has identified 26 primary, 26 secondary, 21 tertiary and 26 category products under the initiative.
For SPSR Nellore district, Udayagiri Wooden Cutlery has been identified as the primary ODOP product, while Paturu Cotton Silk Saris have been selected as the secondary product.
The Centre said support is being extended through participation in domestic and international exhibitions, capacity-building programmes, onboarding products on the Government e-Marketplace (GeM) ODOP Bazaar, buyer-seller meets and promotion through Indian missions abroad.
It added that the Andhra Pradesh government is organising national and state-level handloom expos and collaborating with the Handloom Export Promotion Council to identify handloom products with export potential.
The Centre also informed Parliament that it has not received any proposal from the Andhra Pradesh government for the inclusion of additional products under the ODOP initiative.
