Cases Filed Against YSRC, TD Leaders Following Clashes In Pulivendula
A case was filed against YSRC MP Y.S. Avinash Reddy, the party’s state general secretary Satish Kumar Reddy, and over 150 party leaders and activists for violation of the election code.

Kurnool: Pulivendula police have registered four separate cases against leaders and activists of both the YSRC and the Telugu Desam (TD) following a series of clashes that erupted over the past four days in connection with the ZPTC by-election in Pulivendula mandal of YSR Kadapa district.
A case was filed against YSRC MP Y.S. Avinash Reddy, the party’s state general secretary Satish Kumar Reddy, and over 150 party leaders and activists for violation of the election code. The case was based on a complaint lodged by local MPDO Krishnamurthy after a protest rally was taken out without police permission from the YSRC camp office to the local police station in Pulivendula on Wednesday.
In a separate case, four YSRC leaders Y.S. Bhaskar Reddy, Devireddy Sivashankar Reddy, Avinash Reddy’s personal assistant Raghava Reddy, and Gangadhar Reddy of Tummalapalli were booked for allegedly threatening TD leader Vishwanatha Reddy over the phone, who had recently defected from the YSRC to the TD.
Tensions escalated further in Nallagondavaripalle village on Wednesday, when clashes broke out between YSRC and TD workers. Based on a complaint that TD supporter Dhanunjaya was abused and assaulted on caste grounds, a case under the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act and attempt to murder was registered against YSRC leader Velpula Ramalinga Reddy, Hemanth, and 50 others.
In retaliation, YSRC leader Velpula Ramalinga Reddy lodged a counter-complaint, alleging he was attacked by TD members. Consequently, cases were booked against TD leaders Jayabharath Reddy, Srinath Reddy, and 14 others.
Police stated they are closely monitoring the situation in Pulivendula and surrounding areas, as political rivalry continues to fuel tensions in the run-up to the bypoll.
