Case on Kadiri JS Incharge for Assaulting Wife
Following an argument, Bhairava Prasad allegedly attacked Shashikala with an iron rod.
Anantapur: Kadiri Jana Sena constituency in-charge Bhairava Prasad has been booked after his wife alleged that he assaulted her and their daughter with an iron rod following a family dispute in Sri Sathya Sai district on Monday.
According to a complaint lodged by his wife Shashikala, Bhairava Prasad had allegedly been harassing her mentally for the past few days over alleged extramarital affairs. She further alleged that he regularly abused and insulted her for giving birth to a girl child and expressed a preference for a male child.
Police said the incident occurred when Shashikala asked him to pay their daughter Varshini’s college fee. Following an argument, Bhairava Prasad allegedly attacked Shashikala with an iron rod.
When their daughter Varshini intervened, she was also allegedly assaulted.
Both Shashikala and Varshini sustained injuries and were shifted to the Government Hospital in Kadiri, where they are undergoing treatment.
Kadiri police registered a case against Bhairava Prasad under various sections and initiated an investigation based on the complaint lodged by Shashikala.
