Capital Works Must Gather Pace, Says CM Naidu
The chief minister reviewed works worth Rs 50,999 crore covering 95 projects. He instructed officials to ensure a minimum monthly work progress of 7.92 per cent.
Vijayawada:Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday directed officials and contracting agencies to accelerate construction of the capital city, stressing that every project must be completed within the stipulated timelines.
Reviewing the progress of capital works at the secretariat, he said the pace of execution had improved compared to the past but it must increase further. He described participation in Amaravati's construction as a rare opportunity for infrastructure companies and urged them to make the best use of it by delivering high-quality work on schedule.
Naidu assured contractors that the government would ensure timely release of money but delays would not be tolerated. He asked all agencies to adhere to construction schedules.

Emphasising a broader vision for the capital region, Naidu said Amaravati should not be viewed merely as a cluster of 29 villages but as an integrated urban region along with Vijayawada and Guntur. Infrastructure development, he said, should therefore be planned accordingly to create seamless connectivity and balanced urban growth.
Along with road construction, the CM called for greater emphasis on expanding green cover across the capital region.
Urban development minister P Narayana, chief secretary Sai Prasad, senior officials and representatives of contracting agencies attended the review meeting.
