Cabinet Sets 6-Month Deadline for AgriGold Resolution
CM forms GoM, directs officials to resolve depositor grievances within six months.

Vijayawada: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday expressed his concern over delays in resolving the long-pending AgriGold issue.
During a review at the cabinet meeting, Naidu directed the ministers to aggressively counter the “misinformation” being spread against the state government. He expressed his displeasure over the failure to constitute a cabinet sub-committee to address the grievances of AgriGold depositors despite repeated instructions from him.
He called in and questioned senior officials on the delay and gave them a piece of his mind.
He said, “While the government had extended all possible support, there was no matching administrative response.”
Recalling that the government had sanctioned 31 new posts to accelerate the disposal of AgriGold-related cases, he said dedicated staff would be appointed to strengthen the resolution process.
The Cabinet decided to constitute a Group of Ministers (GoM) and work towards a comprehensive solution to the issue within the next six months.
The CM also reviewed the controversy surrounding DSC recruitment and asked ministers to take seriously the criticism being levelled by the opposition YSR Congress. “Counter misinformation and ensure that factual details about government programmes reach the public,” he told the ministers.
Addressing ministers after the Cabinet meeting, Naidu accused the YSRC leadership of deliberately portraying even positive government initiatives in a negative light. He said the opposition’s strategy was centered on spreading false narratives regarding welfare measures, employment generation and development programmes.
Calling for an extensive public outreach campaign, he instructed ministers to take the achievements of the government’s two-year tenure directly to the people and complete the exercise by June 28. Ministers were also directed to publicise welfare and development initiatives across districts over the next two weeks.
The Chief Minister said the government’s achievements should be documented in a manner similar to the department-wise white papers released after a government assumed office. He stressed the need to highlight improvements in governance, transparency and public service delivery.
On the agriculture front, the CM noted a significant increase in pulse production and called for greater awareness among farmers on crop diversification and scientific crop rotation practices to enhance productivity and incomes. The government, he said, was working towards substantial growth in seafood production.
Referring to the resolution of the long-pending 22-A land issue in Vatti Cherukuru of Guntur district, the CM directed officials and ministers to identify and resolve similar land-related problems elsewhere in the state.
