Burglar Held With Gold Worth ₹18.5 Lakh
Based on technical evidence, CCTV footage and surveillance of suspicious movements, police traced and arrested the accused: Reports

TIRUPATI: A 27-year-old man was arrested for allegedly being involved in a series of house burglaries in Tirupati on Friday. Police also recovered gold ornaments weighing 126 grams and worth ₹18.50 lakh from his possession.
The accused, identified as Ulkesh, a resident of Nehru Nagar in Tirupati, allegedly targeted locked houses in and around the city after observing the movements of homeowners who had gone out.
Based on technical evidence, CCTV footage and surveillance of suspicious movements, police traced and arrested the accused. During questioning, he reportedly confessed to involvement in six burglary cases reported within Tirupati city limits in 2024.
A case was registered and the accused was produced before a court. Tirupati district police appealed to the public to remain alert while leaving houses vacant and advised residents to install CCTV cameras and inform police or neighbours before travelling.
