Boyfriend Kills Intermediate Girl at Gandikota Gorge

Anantapur: The case of a missing intermediate student took a tragic turn when police found her naked body in the bushes near Gandikota Gorge in Jammalamadugu mandal of Kadapa district on Tuesday.
According to police, the girl, a native of Hanuman Durthi village in Erraguntla mandal, was a senior intermediate student at a private junior college in Proddatur. Before leaving on Monday morning, she had informed her parents that she was going with friends to visit the historic Gandikota. When she failed to return home by Monday night, her parents lodged a complaint with Proddatur police, who registered a missing case and alerted nearby police stations.
Later, Jammalamadugu police received information about the body of a naked girl found near Gandikota Gorge. They informed Proddatur police, following which the girl's parents identified the body as that of their daughter.
In a joint investigation, Proddatur and Jammalamadugu police examined CCTV footage from various locations. The footage showed the girl with her boyfriend Lokesh, also from Hanuman Durthi, with whom she had reportedly been in a relationship for several years.
The footage revealed that the two had gone to Gandikota on a motorcycle on Monday, but Lokesh was seen returning alone after a few hours. Police sources said Lokesh was detained on Tuesday. Sniffer dogs were deployed at the scene to aid the investigation. The girl's father has demanded strict action against Lokesh, accusing him of luring and murdering his daughter.
