Boost to Andhra Pradesh's Fisheries, Glass, Refractory Sectors with ADEETIE

States and their designated agencies must adopt focused strategies to achieve significant energy savings. He described ADEETIE as a potential “game changer” for MSMEs in reducing energy consumption and improving competitiveness.

Vijayawada: The Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), under the Union Ministry of Power, has urged all state designated agencies including the AP state Energy Conservation Mission to share their views on the roadmap.

Akash Tripathi, additional secretary to the power ministry and director general of BEE, said that adoption of energy-efficient technologies under the ADEETIE (Assistance in deploying energy efficient technologies in industries and establishments) scheme would benefit Andhra Pradesh, especially in the fisheries, glass and refractory sectors in East and West Godavari districts.

For example, energy-efficient heat pumps (fisheries) and gas-fired pot and tank furnaces (glass & refractory) have demonstrated potential energy savings of 30–40 per cent.

States and their designated agencies must adopt focused strategies to achieve significant energy savings. He described ADEETIE as a potential “game changer” for MSMEs in reducing energy consumption and improving competitiveness.

Secretary to BEE, Milind Deore, along with the media adviser for southern states/UTs, Chandrasekhar Reddy, noted that the scheme was designed to benefit almost all states, significantly strengthening India’s MSME ecosystem. The total outlay of the ADEETIE scheme was 1000 crore, out of which Rs 875 crore is allocated for interest subvention, Rs 75 crore for handholding and implementation support and Rs 50 crore for investment grade energy audits. The scheme would hopefully pave the way for the mobilisation of Rs 9000 crore in energy efficiency investments, he stated.
