KAKINADA: A 17-year-old girl died after falling from a staircase during Bonala dance performances at Sivakoti village in Razole mandal of Dr B.R. Ambedkar Konaseema district on Thursday.
According to Razole sub-inspector B. Rajesh Kumar, the girl was part of a 12-member troupe that had arrived in the village to perform during goddess jathara celebrations. While stepping down the stairs, she reportedly slipped and fell, sustaining fatal injuries. She died on the spot.
The police have registered a case and initiated further inquiry.
