Bill Gates Lauds Naidu For His Focus On AI-Driven Decision-Making

Microsoft founder hopes to visit AP soon

Vijayawada:Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates has appreciated Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu’s focus on AI-driven decision-making, real time data systems and human capital development.

"Naidu is a model of leadership that is ambitious and grounded on the realities to drive progress," Bill Gates said in a recent letter to the CM.

He said, “Your commitment to leveraging technology and innovation to strengthen governance, to improve service delivery and enhance lives, is inspiring. At the Gates Foundation, we are excited to support AP in realising this vision particularly through technical collaboration in health, nutrition, agriculture and education.”

“As we discussed, this partnership holds the potential to demonstrate how scalable, tech-enabled solutions can improve programmatic outcomes, not just in AP but across India and other low and middle-income countries.”

“I was especially intrigued by your plans to strengthen healthcare through wearable technologies, digitised health records and AI-assisted clinical decision-making. In agriculture, the potential to combine AI-enabled advisory services, improved seed varieties and enhanced soil health monitoring could transform farmer productivity and resilience.”

Gates said, “Your government’s emphasis on nutrition is equally important and I am glad we could explore how evidence-based intervention like multiple micronutrient supplements and intravenous iron supplements can further support maternal and child health.”

He opined that the MedTech manufacturing hub in AP would represent a tremendous opportunity to accelerate access to affordable, high-quality diagnostic and clinical devices for underserved communities.

The Microsoft founder thanked Naidu for visiting Delhi and having thoughtful and forward-looking conversation. Gates also thanked the CM for his leadership and partnership, and said he hoped to visit AP during his next trip to India and see the “incredible work underway firsthand.”
