BCYP Protests NTR Statue In Lord Krishna Attire

He warned that if the event takes place, it could have “serious consequences,” as it would hurt the sentiments of Hindus and the Yadava community.

Vijayawada:Bharata Chaitanya Yuvajana Party (BCYP) president B. Ramachandra Yadav has strongly opposed the proposed unveiling of a statue of legendary actor and former Chief Minister N.T. Rama Rao (NTR) depicted in the attire of Lord Krishna at Takkellapadu village near Guntur.

He warned that if the event takes place, it could have “serious consequences,” as it would hurt the sentiments of Hindus and the Yadava community.

In a statement on Saturday, Ramachandra Yadav alleged that the unveiling violates High Court orders, which previously prohibited the installation of NTR statues in the form of Lord Krishna. He criticised the coalition government for supporting the event, claiming that ministers and MLAs were planning to attend it secretly. “We are not against NTR statues, but depicting him in the divine form of Lord Krishna is unacceptable,” he stated.

Ramachandra Yadav stated, “NTR was a great actor, but he was also a political leader affiliated with a party. Comparing him to Lord Krishna, who is revered by Hindus and worshipped in every Yadava household, is an insult to our faith.” He warned that if the unveiling goes ahead, the BCYP, along with Hindu organisations, would launch a large-scale protest across the state, holding the government solely responsible for the consequences.
