BC Reservations Made Me A Minister In AP, Says Kondapalli

Minister Kondapalli Srinivas credited political reservations and the Telugu Desam government for enabling his rise from a newcomer to an MLA and minister.

Minister Kondapalli Srinivas on Sunday underlined that political reservations and empowerment of backward classes (BCs) has made him a minister in Andhra Pradesh.

Addressing a media conference in Vizianagaram on BC reservations, Srinivas said the credit for making a young person like him, who entered politics recently and became an MLA, a minister goes to the Telugu Desam government.

He maintained that TDP has been at the forefront of providing political representation to BCs since its inception, giving prominence to leaders from various BC communities.

The minister declared that neither former chief minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy nor the YSR Congress Party have any moral right to speak about BC reservations. He questioned the contribution of former minister Botsa Satyanarayana to BC welfare while being a minister during the YSRC regime.

Srinivas maintained that Chandrababu Naidu has been fighting for the rights of BCs in the Supreme Court through a special counsel. He appealed to the CM to ensure reservations for BCs so that their future is better.

The minister asserted that Telugu Desam is the only party giving importance to all communities among BCs. He recalled the contributions of prominent BC leaders from north Andhra, including Pydithalli Naidu, Yerram Naidu, Ayyanna Patrudu and Kimidi Kala Venkata Rao.
