Barashaheed Dargah Committee Takes Oath
The minister and MLA presented identity cards to newly inducted committee members and later offered prayers at the dargah.
Nellore: The oath-taking ceremony of the Barashaheed Dargah Festival Committee was held in Nellore on Monday in the presence of Municipal Administration minister Dr Ponguru Narayana, Nellore Rural MLA Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy and other dignitaries.
The minister and MLA presented identity cards to newly inducted committee members and later offered prayers at the dargah.
Congratulating the committee headed by president Munir Basha, Narayana said the government had sanctioned ₹5 crore for the dargah’s development. He said improved facilities had increased attendance at the Rottela Panduga from about four lakh devotees to nearly 14 lakh.
State Waqf Board chairman Abdul Aziz highlighted ongoing infrastructure works, while Kotamreddy assured full support for the smooth conduct of the festival and development of the dargah.
