Banks To Facilitate Pension Withdrawal In AP On Oct. 1 Morning
AP banks will facilitate cash withdrawals on October 1 to ensure timely pension distribution to 61.80 lakh beneficiaries despite bank closures and strike.

AP government has made special arrangements to ensure that pensioners are not inconvenienced by the bank holiday on September 26 and the proposed strike by bank employees from September 28 to September 30.
MSME minister Kondapalli Srinivas announced on Thursday that State-Level Bankers’ Committee (SLBC) will ensure that banks are accessible on the morning of October 1 for withdrawal of cash required for distribution of pensions.
Swarna Gramam and Swarna Ward staff would withdraw the required cash from banks on the morning of October 1 and distribute pensions directly at the beneficiaries’ doorsteps from the same afternoon, the minister assured.
He disclosed that the state government has released ₹2,692.34 crore for distribution of pensions to 61.80 lakh beneficiaries on October 1. Of this, ₹2,675.63 crore would be deposited in the pension bank accounts of beneficiaries in the respective Swarna Gramam and Swarna Ward areas, while ₹16.65 crore would be credited directly to pensioners’ bank accounts through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
Srinivas said as per the central government’s directives, the process of directly crediting pensions through DBT into Aadhaar-linked bank accounts under the SNA SPARSH system is being implemented on a pilot basis in Gajapathinagaram mandal of Vizianagaram district. Under the pilot, ₹0.06 crore will be directly credited to the accounts of NSAP pensioners in the mandal.
The minister maintained that changes in the date and method of pension distribution have been necessitated due to bank holiday and the strike by bank employees. He appealed to pensioners to take note of the arrangements and cooperate with the pension distribution staff and the government.
