'Badi Pilusthondi' Drive Boosts Govt School Admissions: Collector
The collector congratulated 26 students who shifted from private schools to government schools during the campaign.
Vijayawada: NTR district collector Dr G. Lakshmisha on Saturday said the “Badi Pilusthondi” enrolment drive was receiving an encouraging response across the district, with officials creating awareness among parents and encouraging admissions in government schools.
Along with district educational officer L. Chandrakala and officials of allied departments, the collector visited Bhimavaram and Makkapeta villages in Vatsavai mandal and participated in the campaign organised by the education department and Samagra Shiksha.
At Bhimavaram, Dr Lakshmisha took part in a door-to-door awareness drive and explained to parents the facilities and schemes available in government schools, including digital learning and improved infrastructure.
The collector congratulated 26 students who shifted from private schools to government schools during the campaign.
Later, he visited the Zilla Parishad High School at Makkapeta and reviewed admissions and enrolment trends. Officials also identified out-of-school children and facilitated their admissions.
Dr Lakshmisha directed officials and teachers to work in coordination to ensure every child is enrolled in school and receives quality education.
He urged parents to make use of facilities provided by the government, including digital classrooms, midday meals, free textbooks and uniforms.
The collector also instructed officials to complete all works under the “Mana Badi Mana Bhavishyathu” programme before schools reopen.
