Paderu district takes stand against drug abuse
Visakhapatnam: An awareness session was conducted in Paderu district on Saturday to educate the community and students about the negative impacts of drug use on society. District collector Dinesh Kumar instructed all educational institutions to regularly hold such awareness sessions.
The medical health department and the integrated tribal development (ITD) officials were tasked with organising three special medical camps by August 15 to safeguard the health of tribal communities. The secretary of the Visakhapatnam district legal service authority issued directives to the relevant officials on Saturday.
Additionally, the district collector mandated that appropriate measures be taken in collaboration with voluntary organisations to protect the rights of tribal individuals and address the issues arising from drug use.
The participants in the medical camps will include students, voluntary organisations, and officials. The legal cell will also offer free legal advice to tribal members.
