Avinash Reddy Complains To SEC Against Pulivendula DSP
Kadapa MP Y.S. Avinash Reddy urged the SEC to remove Pulivendula DSP B. Murali Naik from election duties, alleging harassment of YSRC leaders and favouritism towards TD.
Kadapa MP Y.S. Avinash Reddy has lodged a complaint with the State Election Commission (SEC) against Pulivendula DSP B. Murali Naik, alleging harassment of YSR Congress (YSRC) leaders and cadre and misuse of police powers to favour the Telugu Desam (TD).
In his complaint, Avinash Reddy alleged that the DSP had been targeting YSRC leaders and workers since taking charge in Pulivendula, foisting false cases against them at the behest of TD leaders.
He also accused the officer of preventing people from meeting former chief minister and YSRC president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy during his visits to Pulivendula.
Referring to Saturday’s municipal election nomination process, the MP alleged that YSRC candidates were obstructed from filing their papers while TD supporters gathered in large numbers near the nomination centre.
Avinash Reddy urged the SEC to remove Murali Naik from election-related duties and appoint an officer who would function independently and impartially.
