VISAKHAPATNAM: The Andhra Pradesh police along with the anti-terror squad and NIA began questioning two terror suspects in Vizianagaram on Friday.

The police took custody of the two youths -Siraj and Syed Sammer -- for interrogation after a court in Vizianagaram ordered a week-long police custody for them. They had been arrested by two-town police in Vizianagaram a week ago.
Siraj and Sammer have been booked under UAPA (unlawful activities (prevention) act and explosives act and various sections under IPC. Initially, the police sought ten-day custody for interrogation. But, days after legal arguments, the court on Thursday night granted cops a seven-day custody with strict conditions.
Friday morning, the Vizianagaram police reached the central prison in Vizag, where the accused were lodged in judicial remand since May 18, This was in connection with the recent finding of explosives and a suspected plot to cause blasts across the state.and obtained their custody. They took the two to the police training college in Vizianagaram and questioned them.
Police sources said central agencies and police from other states were also questioning the two to establish their suspected links with terror outfits and their plans for blasts. Their financial sources were also being probed.
Siraj, an engineering graduate (BTech-Mechanical) was attracted to extremism and met like-minded youths like Sameer through social media platforms while he was staying in Hyderabad. The police found the duo had posted several slogans in support of Pakistan.
