Atchennaidu Criticises Jagan for Calling on Jailed Appalaraju

ccording to the minister, this reflects the "true nature" of Jagan's politics. "Those with a criminal mindset think only about criminals," he remarked, maintaining that this is the reason Jagan did not visit the victim's family.

Visakhapatnam: State Agriculture minister Kinjarapu Atchannaidu on Thursday launched a sharp attack on YSRC president and former chief minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy for calling on jailed former minister Seediri Appala Raju, instead of addressing grievances of the public.

Addressing media, Atchannaidu has charged that Jagan's visits have repeatedly led to tension and law-and-order issues. He alleged that instead of meeting the family of the victim, the former CM chose to stand by those facing criminal charges.

According to the minister, this reflects the "true nature" of Jagan's politics. "Those with a criminal mindset think only about criminals," he remarked, maintaining that this is the reason Jagan did not visit the victim's family.

Condemning the incidents that occurred during the YSRC president’s visit, the minister accused the opposition party leaders and supporters of creating unnecessary disturbances and attacking police personnel. He described the alleged misbehaviour towards a woman sub-inspector on duty as highly condemnable. He observed that assaulting officers enforcing the law reflects YSRC's political culture.

Atchannaidu alleged that wherever Jagan travels, incidents of tension, violence, and clashes with police have become a recurring feature. He underlined that strict legal action would be taken against those responsible for attacking women police personnel during the former chief minister’s visit.
