ANANTAPUR: The American Telugu Association (ATA) has announced the ATA Literary Excellence Award for Dr Appireddy Harinatha Reddy, a noted writer from the Rayalaseema region, in recognition of his contributions to literature and culture over the past two decades.
The award will be presented during the valedictory ceremony of the ATA celebrations on December 27 evening at Ravindra Bharathi, Hyderabad, as part of the events being held from December 12 to 27.
Dr Harinatha Reddy has highlighted several lesser-known literary and cultural dimensions of Rayalaseema through his writings and research. He also received the Central Sahitya Akademi award for his book on Sadhana magazine.
He has been actively promoting Yogi Vemana literature through the Yogi Vemana Vedika by organising competitions in schools and educational institutions every year to mark Yogi Vemana’s birth anniversary.
