Around 10 locations in the district recorded the minimum temperatures in single digits on Saturday: Reports

VISAKHAPATNAM: Alluri Sitarama Raju district has recorded low temperatures on Saturday. The cold conditions disrupted daily life across the district. However, the inflow of tourists to parts of the district has been increasing. Around 10 locations in the district recorded the minimum temperatures in single digits on Saturday.

As per the authorities from Regional Agricultural Research Station (RARS) based at Chintapalli in ASR district, G Madugula recorded 4.7° Celsius in the early hours of Saturday, followed by Munchingputtu at 5°C and Ananthagiri at 5.8°C.

While Chintapalle recorded 6.5°C, Paderu recorded 6.7°C and Pedabayalu recorded 6.9°C. Similarly, Pedabayalu recorded 10.2°C and Chintapalli 11.2°C. Similarly, Dumbriguda recorded 9.1°C and Maredumilli recorded 9.9°C.

The IMD forecast that dry weather is likely to prevail over north coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, south coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema regions in the state for the next few days.

The minimum temperatures are likely to be below normal by 2 ºC to 4 ºC at isolated places over coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema regions in the state for the next four days, the IMD said.
