The ASI is taking up detailed documentation about the significance of the Padala Mandapam.

Vijayawada: The Archaeological Survey of India has taken up works for the restoration of Alipiri Padala Mandapam in Tirupati at an estimated cost of Rs 5 crore with the support from the Pune-based Lord Venkateswara Charitable and Religious Trust.

The ASI is taking up detailed documentation about the significance of the Padala Mandapam. Accordingly, all the architectural members of the Mandapams, such as roof slabs, roof beams, wall members, flood members, and others, will be given a documentation number along with their original orientation and will be clearly and visibly marked with paint on each architectural member.

The important levels, such as floor, beam, roof, and others, will be clearly marked on adjacent permanent objects or structures with respect to a temporary benchmark.
