ASI Puts Digitised Inscriptions Online for Free Access

VIJAYAWADA: The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) has made digitised estampages of inscriptions, transcripts and related metadata available free of cost on its website, bharatshri.asi.gov.in, for scholars, researchers and the general public.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, ASI director (epigraphy) K. Munirathnam Reddy said inscriptions are an invaluable repository of historical information and provide the most authentic first-hand records of the past.
He said the online archive would enable scholars, researchers and the public to access and use epigraphical records that shed light on India's rich cultural heritage.
