Ashadam Sare Offered to Goddesses in AP’s Temples

Ashadam is the month during which many auspicious events like marriages and housewarming are prohibited. When the month ends, it is the tradition of devotees to offer fruits, saris and sweets to Goddesses in their favourite or nearby temples.

Kakinada: With the Ashada Masam ending within four days, devotees throughout the state are offering Ashadam Sare to various Goddesses in temples of the Godavari districts.

Ashadam is the month during which many auspicious events like marriages and housewarming are prohibited. When the month ends, it is the tradition of devotees to offer fruits, saris and sweets to Goddesses in their favourite or nearby temples.

Sunday being the last of the Ashada Masa, devotees thronged to Kota Sathemma Thalli Temple in Thimmarajupalem of Nidadavole mandal in East Godavari district.

State Tourism and Culture minister Kandula Durgesh visited the temple and performed special poojas to the Goddess Sakambari adorned with different vegetables. He said a long-term development plan is being proposed to develop the temple under the Akhanda Godavari project.

The Tourism minister said temples and tourist places are being developed under the leadership of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan.

Ganganamma, Challamma, Vijayalakshmi, Kanakadurgamma and other Goddesses at Kannapuram village in Eluru district celebrated the Ashadam Sare mahotsavams. Devotees offered Ashada Sare to Goddess Manikyamba at Draksharama, one of the Asthadasa Peethas.
