APTS to Launch Statewide Cyber Fraud Awareness Campaign
Mohan Krishna said APTS monitors IT infrastructure around the clock and issues proactive alerts against potential threats. The upcoming sessions will educate the public on various tactics used by cybercriminals and guide victims on how to lodge complaints if they fall prey to scams.

Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh Technology Services (APTS) chairman Mannava Mohan Krishna, announced that the agency will conduct statewide awareness sessions to protect citizens from cybercrime. Addressing a press conference at the APTS office in Vijayawada on Thursday, he underlined the importance of raising public awareness amid the rising number of cyber frauds.
Mohan Krishna said APTS monitors IT infrastructure around the clock and issues proactive alerts against potential threats. The upcoming sessions will educate the public on various tactics used by cybercriminals and guide victims on how to lodge complaints if they fall prey to scams.
He highlighted the growing global threat of cybercrime and stressed the need for robust technological solutions. Recently, APTS successfully organised the state-level Cyber Security Hackathon (HACKATHON 2025), aimed at training IT graduates and professionals in the field. Thirty participants who completed a six-month internship received certificates and a monthly stipend of ₹10,000.
Mohan Krishna recalled that the Central government introduced cyber security legislation in 2013, following which the Andhra Pradesh government formulated a Cyber Security Policy in 2017, with APTS as the nodal agency. In 2018, the state also established the Andhra Pradesh Cyber Security Operational Centre (APCSOC) for continuous monitoring of threats to government systems.
He added that APTS now aims to expand its cyber security audit services to the private sector and other states, which could significantly boost Andhra Pradesh’s revenue from cyber auditing.
