Visakhapatnam: Severe heat conditions continued across Andhra Pradesh on Wednesday, disrupting normal life, with temperatures crossing 40°C in 275 mandals, APSDMA Managing Director Prakhar Jain said. Temperatures are expected to touch 43–44°C in districts including Parvathipuram Manyam, West Godavari, Eluru, NTR, Palnadu, Markapuram, Nellore, Kurnool, Nandyal and Kadapa. As many as 34 mandals are likely to face severe heatwave conditions, while 67 mandals may experience heatwaves across multiple districts.
On Friday, heatwave conditions are expected in 28 mandals (severe) and 37 mandals (moderate).
Sanjamala in Nandyal recorded the highest temperature at 44.6°C, followed by Gurazala (44.5°C), Kadapa (44.1°C), Anumalapalli (44°C) and Laddagiri (43.9°C).
Authorities have advised people to take precautions as temperatures continue to rise.
