AP’s SIR Finds 7.37 lakh Electors Enrolled at Multiple Places

Vijayawada: The Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Andhra Pradesh has identified 7.37 lakh electors enrolled at multiple places, Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Vivek Yadav said on Saturday.
In a statement, the CEO said all 4,16,27,694 electors in the state had been covered under the exercise. Enumeration forms have been received from 3,71,38,206 electors, accounting for 89.22 per cent of the electorate.
According to the SIR findings, 44,89,488 electors (10.78 per cent) were not found at their registered addresses. The exercise has so far identified 15,22,174 deceased electors (3.66 per cent), 14,43,886 electors who have permanently shifted (3.47 per cent), 7,37,216 electors enrolled at multiple places (1.77 per cent), 7,77,885 untraceable electors (1.87 per cent) and 8,327 electors (0.02 per cent) who refused to accept enumeration forms.
The CEO said the authorities had completed the coverage of all targeted electors under the SIR exercise.
Vivek Yadav said every effort had been made to ensure that all eligible electors are included in the draft electoral rolls, which are scheduled to be published on July 31.
He said that, in accordance with the SIR guidelines, the period from July 31 to August 30 would be available for members of the public to file objections regarding additions, deletions and corrections in the draft electoral rolls.
