AP’s 62.65 L Children To Undergo 38 Medical Tests Under RBSK 2.0

Vijayawada: As many as 62.65 lakh children in Andhra Pradesh will undergo 38 types of medical tests free of cost under Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK) 2.0 programme being implemented in the state.

AP Health minister Satya Kumar Yadav inaugurated the state-level RBSK 2.0 at a tribal residential high school located at Maredumilli of Rampachodavaram mandal in Polavaram district on Thursday.

Speaking on the occasion, he said children are being subject to several types of medical tests so that their health problems could be detected in advance and treatment provided to them care free of cost. They are also testing the eyes of 43.30 lakh children.

The minister underlined that the alliance government wants to ensure that children from Anganwadi centres to schools remain healthy, so that they fare well in their studies and reach higher positions. He said he is delighted to start the state-wide RBSK 2.0 programme in Rampachodavaram, where tribal children are more, so that their health issues could be resolved.

Satya Kumar disclosed that of the 62,65,410 children scheduled to undergo comprehensive health tests under the scheme, 20.95 lakh are below six years of age from Anganwadi centres. The remaining 41.70 lakh children are aged between six years and 18 years and studying in government and government-affiliated schools.

He pointed out that 38 types of health problems are to be tested in addition to high blood pressure, blood sugar, obesity, kidney diseases, mental issues, and ailments due to excessive usage of mobile phones.

The minister emphasised that the central government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the state government led by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu are according top priority to the health of children in Andhra Pradesh.
