Approval for Rs 33,000 Crore Investments Across 19 Projects

35,000 employment opportunities in energy, tourism, IT, and electronics sectors: CM Naidu

Vijayawada: The sixth meeting of the State Investment Promotion Board, chaired by Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday, approved 19 new industrial projects with a total investment of Rs 33,720 crore.

Naidu said these investments are expected to generate employment for 34,621 persons across the energy, tourism, IT and electronics sectors.

He said, “Andhra Pradesh is witnessing a rapid surge in industrial development, with both domestic and global investors showing keen interest in the state due to the investor-friendly policies introduced by the government. “In the last 11 months, the SIPB has convened six times and cleared 76 projects with a total investment of Rs 4,95,796 crore.”

These projects are projected to create over 4.5 lakh employment opportunities in the state.

The chief minister said the progress of these projects would be closely monitored. Officials must track each project's status from MoU signing to groundbreaking and final commissioning through a dedicated dashboard.

The dashboard would also track job creation and real-time project updates, ensuring transparency and accountability.

The CM said the state aims to create 50,000 hotel rooms to boost tourist inflow. Affordable accommodation, better temple-area facilities and eco-tourism initiatives like tent accommodations and riverfront spiritual activities would be offered.

On industrial sustainability, he urged farmers to avoid burning of agricultural waste and instead set up small-scale plants to convert such waste into resources through circular economy models.
