APPGCET-2026 Records 91.55% Pass Rate; 15,020 Candidates Qualify

Tirupati: The results of the Andhra Pradesh Post Graduate Common Entrance Test (APPGCET)-2026 were announced on Friday, with 91.55 per cent of the candidates qualifying for admissions to postgraduate courses.
Education minister Nara Lokesh announced the results and congratulated the successful candidates. In a message posted on social media, he said the 91.55 per cent pass percentage reflected the hard work and determination of students.
He wished the qualified candidates success in higher education and research and complimented the state council of higher education (APSCHE) and officials involved in conducting the examination.
The results were formally released at S.V. University, Tirupati, by vice-chancellor Prof. T. Narasinga Rao, rector Prof Appa Rao, registrar Prof M. Bhupathi Naidu, APPGCET convener Prof V Padmavathi and others.

Among the major streams, Computer Science recorded a pass percentage of 98.49, followed by Food and Nutrition at 98.43. Zoology registered 97.16 per cent, Economics 96.65, Botany 96.33, and Physical Sciences 93.06 per cent. Chemical Sciences recorded 82.92 per cent, while Mathematical Sciences registered 75.17.
The results were processed after experts examined objections raised on the preliminary answer keys and prepared the final keys. Female candidates performed better than males. The pass percentage among women stood at 92.44 per cent, compared to 90.07 for men.
Among the examination centres, Chittoor recorded a pass percentage of 95.35, higher than the state average. Ongole registered 94.22 per cent, Vijayawada 93.93, and Guntur 93.84 percent. Vizianagaram recorded the lowest pass percentage at 85.69.
Candidates from Tirupati district also secured top ranks in different streams. Penubaku Sailaja obtained Rank-1 in the Education stream, while Guttam Teja secured the top rank in the Master of Fine Arts (MFA) stream.
The university said candidates can download their rank cards and score cards from the APPGCET website. The counselling schedule for admissions into postgraduate courses will be announced shortly.
