APPCB organised a beach clean-up at Baruva Beach for International Coastal Clean-Up Day, with students, NGOs, industries and residents collecting plastic waste.

The Andhra Pradesh Pollution Control Board (APPCB), Srikakulam, organised a beach clean-up drive at Baruva Beach on Saturday as part of International Coastal Clean-Up Day.

Students, NGO representatives, industry representatives and local residents participated in the drive and collected plastic waste and other debris from the shoreline.

The programme aimed to raise awareness about marine litter and promote responsible waste disposal. Officials highlighted the harmful effects of single-use plastics on marine ecosystems and stressed the need for collective efforts to protect coastal environments.

Assistant collector Hariom Pandya, officials from the local administration and Baruva panchayat participated in the drive.

Students and volunteers carried placards and raised awareness about keeping beaches clean and protecting marine biodiversity.
