APCLF Seeks Action Against Pastor Over Fake Attack Drama

The forum said such acts tarnish the image of the Christian community and weaken public trust in genuine religious and social service activities

VIJAYAWADA: The Andhra Pradesh Christian Leaders Forum (APCLF) has strongly condemned Pastor Abhinay Darshan for allegedly staging a fake murder attempt to gain publicity and create communal tension in tribal areas of the State.

APCLF chairman Oliver Rayi said the incident, reported on May 18 at Niruthotapalem village in Chintapalli mandal of Alluri Sitarama Raju district, was a “well-planned hoax” aimed at misleading both the Christian community and the public.

Oliver Rayi appreciated the district police, led by SP Amit Bardar, for swiftly investigating the case and exposing the alleged conspiracy. He said police had confirmed that no real attack had taken place and that Pastor Abhinay Darshan had orchestrated the incident himself. The pastor has reportedly been arrested.

The forum said such acts tarnish the image of the Christian community and weaken public trust in genuine religious and social service activities. It also warned that spreading misinformation through social media could disturb peace in sensitive tribal regions.

Oliver Rayi demanded stringent police action, legal proceedings against all those involved, and a thorough probe to prevent misuse of religious identity for personal or political gain.
