AP to Start NTR Bharosa Pension Disbursal on October 1
Scheme to benefit 61.80 lakh persons.
Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh government would start distribution of social security pensions under the NTR Bharosa Pension Scheme at the doorsteps of an estimated 61.80 lakh beneficiaries in the state on October 1 at 6.30am.
MSME minister Kondapalli Srinivas noted in a statement here on Monday that the bank employees have deferred their strike and hence the banking operations would continue without any disruption.
In this context, the state government took all necessary measures for distribution of pensions from October 1 itself.
Accordingly, the Swarna Gram and Swarna Ward staff members can withdraw their pension amounts from the banks on Sept 30 so that they can start distribution of pensions from the early hours on Oct. 1, he said.
The state government, he said, has released `2,692.34 crore for October so far. Out of this, `2,692.28 crore was remitted to the bank accounts of panchayats and wards while `6 lakh would be remitted to the welfare pensioners under the National Social Assistance Programme through DBT at Gajapathinagaram mandal.
The minister advised all the district project directors, MPDOs, municipal commissioners, SLBC and bankers to coordinate and keep the requisite money ready on Sept. 30 so that pensioners would get their pension amounts without any delay.
