AP to Recruit 238 Doctors in Secondary Hospitals Soon

The recruitment will be conducted through District Selection Committees under the supervision of district collectors

Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh government will soon recruit 238 doctors for secondary hospitals across the state.

Health minister Satya Kumar Yadav has approved the recruitment process on Friday. The appointments include 148 civil assistant surgeons (specialists) and 90 civil assistant surgeons (general) for community health centres, regional hospitals and district hospitals.

The recruitment will be conducted through District Selection Committees under the supervision of district collectors.

Officials said the selected candidates would be appointed on a one-year contract basis. Doctors with postgraduate qualifications would be appointed as specialists with a monthly salary of `1.10 lakh, while MBBS graduates appointed as civil assistant surgeons would receive `61,960 per month.

The district-wise vacancies include 13 each in Nellore, Sri Sathya Sai and Anantapur districts; 11 each in Polavaram, Konaseema and Eluru; 10 each in Parvathipuram, Krishna, NTR, Bapatla and Tirupati; and nine each in East Godavari, Prakasam, Markapuram and Kurnool.

Eight vacancies each have been identified in Alluri Sitarama Raju (ASR), Chittoor and Annamayya districts, while Anakapalli, West Godavari, Palnadu and Nandyal have seven each. Srikakulam, Kakinada and Kadapa districts have six vacancies each, Vizianagaram has five, Guntur four and Visakhapatnam one.

Satya Kumar Yadav has directed officials to complete the recruitment process within a month.
