AP to Promote Handicrafts Through E-Commerce Platforms
Officials informed the minister that renovated Lepakshi showrooms in Delhi and Kakinada were ready for inauguration

Vijayawada: Handlooms and textiles minister S. Savita on Wednesday said the government would promote Andhra Pradesh handicrafts through e-commerce and social media platforms, enabling doorstep delivery of products to consumers.
Reviewing Lepakshi showrooms and handicraft sales with officials of the Andhra Pradesh Handicrafts Development Corporation (APHDC) at Tadepalli, the minister said the coalition government led by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu was committed to providing year-round employment opportunities to handicraft artisans.
Officials informed the minister that renovated Lepakshi showrooms in Delhi and Kakinada were ready for inauguration. Savita directed officials to make them operational at the earliest and expedite the establishment of a new Lepakshi showroom at Rajahmundry Airport, which has received approval from the Union Civil Aviation Ministry.
The minister also instructed officials to modernise all Lepakshi outlets with attractive interiors and strengthen online marketing initiatives to boost handicraft sales.
Savita noted that APCO was already delivering handloom products to customers and said similar doorstep delivery services would soon be extended to handicrafts as well.
