AP to Get Heavy Rainfall Till July 4

Visakhapatnam: Many parts of AP are likely to get isolated heavy rainfall till July 4, IMD Amaravati stated in its bulletin on Sunday.

It said an upper air cyclonic circulation over north Telangana and neighbourhood persisted and now lay between 5.8 and 7.6 km above mean sea level.

A trough now runs from northern parts of coastal Andhra Pradesh to Madhya Maharashtra across Chhattisgarh and Marathwada at 4.5km above mean sea level. Another trough runs from north interior Karnataka to Comorin area across Rayalaseema, South Interior Karnataka and Tamil Nadu and extended upto 1.5km above mean sea level.

According to APSDMA managing director Prakhar Jain, moderate to heavy rains are likely at isolated places, accompanied by gusty winds. He advised people to remain cautious and follow safety precautions during adverse weather conditions.
For Monday, light to moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorms was likely at isolated places in the coastal Andhra districts, while a few places in Rayalaseema may receive light rainfall.

On Tuesday, districts including Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Parvathipuram Manyam, Polavaram region, Kakinada, Konaseema, East Godavari, West Godavari, Eluru and NTR district are expected to receive light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms at isolated locations. Other districts may witness light showers in some areas.

According to the authority, on Sunday, Mangalagiri in Guntur district recorded the highest rainfall of 68.2mm, followed by Rajam in Vizianagaram district (52.5mm), Kakumanu in Guntur district (51.5mm), Tadepalli (45.2mm), Kavuluru in NTR district (41.5mm) and Bhattiprolu in Bapatla district (39.9mm).
