AP To Allot 807 Liquor Shops For Excise Year 2026-27
Andhra Pradesh will allot 807 liquor retail shops through a draw of lots for the 2026-27 excise year, with applications open until October 1.
The Andhra Pradesh government will allot 807 liquor retail shops (A4) through a draw of lots for the excise year from October 1, 2026, to September 30, 2027.
Excise commissioner Ch. Sridhar said on Friday that applications were being invited for the 807 shops whose licences were not renewed or were non-functional and are being offered for fresh allotment. Of these, 799 are in the open category and eight are reserved for toddy tappers (Geetha Kulalu).
The shops have been notified through the respective district gazettes.
The application process began on Sept 24, with applicants allowed to apply online, through the hybrid mode or offline. A non-refundable application fee of `3 lakh and a processing fee of `1,000 have to be paid for each application.
For online applications, applicants can use the designated portals for the open and reserved categories. After entering details in Form-A3 (A), they have to select the gazette serial number of the desired shop, make the prescribed payment and download the system-generated Form-3 (B), registration certificate in Form-R1 and entry pass in Form-E1.
Under the hybrid mode, applicants can register online, select the manual payment option in CFMS and generate an e-challan to pay the `3 lakh application fee at an SBI branch. The processing fee of `1,000 can be paid through a demand draft, bank voucher or UPI.
Applications can also be submitted offline at designated application reception centres along with the prescribed documents and proofs.
The last date and time for registration and submission of applications is October 1 up to midnight. The applications will be scrutinised on October 3, followed by the draw of lots.
The draw for the notified shops will be held from 8am on October 5 and the selected applicants will be informed on the same day. They will have to fulfill all statutory and regulatory requirements before obtaining the Form-A4 licence.
Under amended Rule 14, obtaining a permit room licence is mandatory for establishing and operating a liquor retail shop. Selected licensees have to pay the annual Retail Excise Tax (RET) either in one lump sum or in equal installments. Those opting for installments have to pay the first installment on the day of selection or the succeeding bank working day.
The 807 shops are distributed across districts as follows: Srikakulam 39, Vizianagaram 30, Parvathipuram Manyam 9, Visakhapatnam 52, Anakapalli 39, Alluri Sitarama Raju 3, Kakinada 38, Konaseema 12, East Godavari 4, Polavaram 1, Eluru 19, West Godavari 25, Krishna 35, NTR 18, Guntur 49, Palnadu 24, Bapatla 34, Prakasam 45, Markapuram 21, Nellore 51, Chittoor 19, Tirupati 49, Kurnool 17, Nandyal 27, Anantapur 53, Sri Sathya Sai 17, Annamayya 17 and YSR Kadapa 60.
