AP Strengthens Cyber Crime Prevention With Tech-Driven Strategy

Vijayawada:The Andhra Pradesh government has intensified its fight against cyber crimes by adopting a technology-driven strategy focused on preventing offences before they occur, chief secretary G Sai Prasad said on Thursday.
He was presenting the state's initiatives at the 53rd PRAGATI meeting chaired by Prime Minister's principal secretary PK Mishra.
Addressing the meeting through video conference, the chief secretary said the state is strengthening measures to curb cyber crimes, digital arrests and online financial fraud through advanced technology, faster complaint resolution and better inter-state coordination.
Sai Prasad said AP has established the state cyber coordination centre (S4C) in line with 14C guidelines to coordinate cyber crime control. The state has also implemented the e-Zero FIR system for prompt registration of complaints received through the national cyber crime reporting portal and the 1930 helpline, with the CID cyber crime police station designated as the nodal police station.
Integration with the CCTNS is under way.
The money restoration module, launched as a pilot in May 2026, has enabled the recovery of `1.56 crore for victims of cyber financial fraud over the past three months. The grievance redressal mechanism portal has resolved 358 complaints across the state.
Through the Sahyog Portal, action was initiated against 22,024 illegal URLs linked to 2,713 request IDs, leading to 14,903 URLs being removed or disabled. Using the Samanvaya Portal, the state resolved 2,609 of the 4,378 cyber investigation requests received from other states and 2,351 of 2,959 requests sent by AP, besides recording 57 cases, 103 accused profiles and 1,294 inter-state linkages.
The Pratibimb Module analysed 553 ATM IDs, 3,019 NCRP acknowledgements, transactions worth `6.85 crore, and identified 2,782 mule accounts and 335 suspicious mobile numbers for further action.
Sai Prasad said 13 police personnel have completed Cyber Commando training, over 60 more are awaiting training, and the state aims to train 500 cyber commandos over the next three years through the CyTrain Portal.
Andhra Pradesh conducted 89,260 cyber awareness programmes during the last financial year, particularly targeting students, women and senior citizens, as part of its shift from reactive policing to a preventive cyber security framework, he added.
