AP Skill Development Corporation signs MoU with SkillBee to enable nurses get jobs in Europe

Germany needs at least three lakh nursing students immediately

Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh Skill Development Corporation has entered into a partnership with SkillBee India Pvt Ltd to provide training to B.Sc Nursing, GNM and ANM students from various government and private institutions in the state.

The agreement was signed in the presence of education and IT minister Nara Lokesh on Thursday. Lokesh said the MoU aimed to impart training to nursing students from both public and private educational institutions to enable them get jobs in Germany and other European countries.

Lokesh said Germany is facing an acute scarcity of nurses to work as care-takers for the elderly and those in old-age homes. Germany needs at least three lakh nursing students immediately.

The MoU signed on Thursday would help the nursing students get trained in German language through Skillbee. Lokesh expressed confidence that at least 1,000 nursing students from AP will get jobs in Germany every year with the best available package.

The co-founder of SkillBee India Pvt Ltd, Vinjamuri Ravichandra Gowtham, and its CEO Ujwal Chouhan said at least 10,000 persons were provided jobs in various counties so far through their institute.

Skillbee is one of the best start-ups in the world in providing employment opportunities, they claimed.

Students trained by them are being selected for jobs in Germany, Poland, Hungary, Lithuania and other East European countries. “We have have set a target to transform Andhra Pradesh as a skill capital by resolving the language scarcity issue through Skillbee Pvt Ltd and APSDC” the two said.

They are imparting skill training in German language to over 4,000 students from government nursing colleges, private nursing colleges in Visakhapatnam, East and West Godavari districts, Vizianagaram and Srikakulam, it was claimed.

Principal secretary to AP Skill Development and Training, Kona Sasidhar, APSDC CEO Ganesh Kumar, executive director Manohar and others were present.
