AP Showcases Tourism Potential at MICE Leaders Connect

Amrapali said Andhra Pradesh’s focus is on expanding tourism infrastructure, promoting key cities.

Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh Tourism department put up a strong, strategic presence at the IEIA South India MICE Industry Leaders’ Connect in Chennai. The platform brought together senior government officials, industry experts and key tourism stakeholders to shape a collaborative roadmap for strengthening the MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions) ecosystem across south India.

Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (APTDC) managing director Amrapali Kata spoke on “Synergy for Success: A Collaborative Roadmap for MICE Dominance.” She provided an overview of the state's proactive initiatives aimed at building a conducive environment for tourism investments and MICE infrastructure development.

Amrapali said Andhra Pradesh’s focus is on expanding tourism infrastructure, promoting key cities like Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada and Tirupati, thereby unlocking the potential of tier-2 and tier-3 locations, and advancing public-private partnership (PPP) models to drive sustainable and inclusive regional growth.

IEIA president Sooraj Dhawan moderated the programme in which prominent tourism leaders from Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Puducherry, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, and Hyderabad participated.

Ministry of Tourism additional secretary Suman Billa inaugurated the event. The discussions focused on regional collaboration, global positioning, and actionable PPP strategies to elevate south India as a competitive global MICE hub.

Those representing Andhra Pradesh tourism at the event included Padma Rani Seela, chief marketing officer and Satya Prabha, investment consultant, Andhra Pradesh Tourism Authority.
