AP Seeks Report on 1,200 Animal Husbandry Appointments Over Fake Certificate Allegations by April 25

Certificates are to be referred to the issuing authorities to establish their authenticity

VIJAYAWADA: The Andhra Pradesh government has sought a report by April 25 on the appointment of 1,200 animal husbandry assistants allegedly based on fake certificates.

Animal husbandry director T. Damodar Naidu has issued a memo directing erstwhile district animal husbandry officers to verify all applications submitted under three recruitment notifications. He also asked officials to scrutinise cases where candidates were awarded weightage marks during the selection process.

The director instructed officials to issue individual notices to those currently drawing salaries and to verify their educational certificates with the Board of Intermediate Education and other institutions concerned.

He said disciplinary action under CCA rules should be initiated against those who fail to submit explanations within the stipulated time. Certificates are to be referred to the issuing authorities to establish their authenticity.

The move follows media reports alleging irregular appointments, as well as requests for a detailed report from the GSWS department and the Upa-Lokayukta in Kurnool.
