AP SEC to Upload Candidates’ Nomination Papers, Affidavits on Website
The decision follows a PIL filed in the High Court by Valaparla Sivakarthik of Nuzvid, seeking directions to make candidates’ nomination papers and affidavits available online
Hyderabad: The AP State Election Commission (SEC) has taken a key decision to make the nomination papers and affidavits of candidates contesting local body elections available on its website.
The documents of candidates contesting parishad and sarpanch elections will also be uploaded. The decision follows a PIL filed in the High Court by Valaparla Sivakarthik of Nuzvid, seeking directions to make candidates’ nomination papers and affidavits available online.
In response, the SEC informed the High Court that it would upload the candidates’ affidavits on its website. The SEC also submitted an affidavit stating that instructions had been issued to the concerned departments to implement the decision. After taking note of the submissions and recording the details, the High Court closed the hearing on the PIL.
