AP SEC Reschedules MPTC, ZPTC Polls To November 5
The Andhra Pradesh State Election Commission (SEC) has rescheduled the polling and counting dates for MPTC and ZPTC elections in the state.

Amaravati: The Andhra Pradesh State Election Commission (SEC) has rescheduled the polling and counting dates for the Mandal Parishad Territorial Constituency (MPTC) and Zilla Parishad Territorial Constituency (ZPTC) elections from November 3 to November 5 in the state.
As per the revised schedule, polling for MPTC and ZPTC elections will be held on November 5, while the counting of votes will take place on November 7.
Earlier, the SEC had decided to postpone urban local body elections and conduct polling on November 1 and counting on November 3. The decision to reschedule the MPTC and ZPTC polls was taken today after the Supreme Court gave the green signal for local body elections on Tuesday and because the counting of votes for the urban local body (ULB) elections is to be done on November 3 under the revised schedule.
According to the official notification issued by State Election Commissioner Anil Chandra Punetha, the 2026 local body schedule covers elections across 100 urban local bodies, MPTCs, ZPTCs, and gram panchayats in the state. The Commissioner stated that after an assessment of the situation created by Cyclone Arnab, and based on assurances given by the Collectors and District Election Authorities of the cyclone-affected districts, it was decided not to change the November 1 polling date for the ULBs.
