AP Rakes in ₹300 Crore on Stamps
The revised market values, reflecting an increase of 10 to 15 per cent, will come into force from February 1.

Visakhapatnam:Andhra Pradesh earned about Rs300 crore from stamp duty and registrations over the past three days, ahead of the implementation of revised land market values, officials said on Saturday.
Speaking to Deccan Chronicle, additional IG of stamps and registration Ravi Kumar said the department recorded business of around Rs 100 crore a day. He said the revenue could have been higher if the Comprehensive Financial Management System (CFMS) server had functioned without technical glitches.
“Registrations continued in several cities even after 7 pm,” Ravi Kumar said, adding that Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam and Tirupati recorded higher registration volumes than other urban centres.
The revised market values, reflecting an increase of 10 to 15 per cent, will come into force from February 1.
Sources said sub-registrar offices across the State witnessed heavy footfall as people rushed to complete registrations before the revised rates took effect. The surge led to long queues and heightened activity in several districts, including Krishna and Visakhapatnam.
There are about 296 sub-registrar offices in Andhra Pradesh, handling an average of 6,000 to 7,000 registrations daily and generating around ₹40 crore in revenue for the State.
To manage the rush, the department introduced an online slot booking system, under which applicants were allotted time slots valid for 10 minutes between 10.30 am and 5.30 pm. The registration process included KYC verification, e-signing and document scanning.
