AP Proposes 3 Officials For High-Level Panel On Water Disputes

The officials proposed are G. Sai Prasad, special chief secretary (Water resources), M. Venkateswara Rao, advisor to the government (Water resources), and K. Narasimha Murthy, engineer-in-chief.

Vijayawada:The Andhra Pradesh government has proposed the names of three senior officials from the water resources department to be included in the high-level panel being formed by the Centre to address inter-state water disputes between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

The officials proposed are G. Sai Prasad, special chief secretary (Water resources), M. Venkateswara Rao, advisor to the government (Water resources), and K. Narasimha Murthy, engineer-in-chief.

The Centre is in the process of constituting a high-level panel comprising technical experts and senior officials to examine concerns surrounding the proposed Polavaram–Banachela Link Project and unresolved water-sharing issues between the two states.

The panel is expected to play a crucial role in facilitating dialogue and finding amicable solutions to long-pending disputes related to river water usage and project implementations.
